Packer Reunion 2008, Part 2...

Well... Wednesday was a fun day too. We just hung out around the house. I got in a little practice with cutting my sisters' and nephews' hair! I love having family to practice on! The boys had so much fun the night before going paintballing that they went again Wednesday night!
All the kids watching a movie and playing waiting for the paintballers to get back!
Thursday we got everything ready to go camping... we were supposed to go for two nights up at Riggs Lake! Well everyone headed up the mountain by 3:00, Angie's can and Dad's truck were behind us to begin with... we got up to the National Forest sign and had to turn around, our truck was over heating:( It's a good thing that I am married to a mechanic! He got a new thermostat and an after we headed down the mountain we were headed right back up it... at least when we got there everything was already set up, well, except for our tent! We got it set up just in time for the rain to start! Just a little warning... NEVER go camping when it says their is a 40% chance of rain! So appearantly we were the only ones to bring a tarp to put under our tent... only it didn't stay their... we hung between the trees to cover all of our food and supplies! Good thing for smart guys... oh yeah, TALL smart guys! Needless to say, the stuff got a little wet before they got the tarp up. So the rain only lasted untill about 5 minnutes after they got it up... but at least we were prepared for the next time... so we thought! So we had some yummy tin foil dinners and smores then everyone went to bed, in their semi damp tents!

Andy LOVES camping!

Friday mornig we got up early and had a really yummy breakfast, we went fishing, played games, went on hikes (walks) and enjoyed each others company! It was a great day! Oh, we had lunch someshere in there to! So, Andy and I had signed up to do dinner, so we started to make the hamburgers and hotdogs around 4:30... we wanted it to be ready at dinner time! Hahahaha! So about 10 minutes after we get everything going... it starts to rain, and I mean POUR... but at least we had the tarp, right? Hahaha! So, lets just say that the tarp didn't come with four sides... we had hung a little tarp that my Dad had on the side to block the side rain, only it wasn't quite long enough... so, after everything was soaking wet, and the food wasn't doing so great, and everyone was cold... the rain stopped! So Andy finished dinner enough to feed everyone! Then we made an exexutive decision that it would be best to break camp and head down the mountain before it got too dark so that all the kids that were wet didn't have to sleep in the tents that were now REALLY wet... we don't like sick kids, or HUSBANDS! So, Angie stayed with her camper, and Mom and Dad stayed with their turck ( they were sleeping in the camper on the back of it), they thought it would be better to pull the tarp out of the trees in the morning when they could see better and it wouldn't be so wet! So... everyone made it down safely, took hot showers, and slept in a WARM bed!
Rachel was the last one to bed... and the first one awake!
Andy and Mike in the boat!
The two newly wed couples in our family...Troy & Alyssa and Tyler & Krystle!

Carly and Riley fishing!
Jeremiah, Rachel & Talon playing!
Playing games... aka... the calm before the storm!
The STORM! I didn't think it was supposed to rain in Arizona!
Rachel... and her daddy... all wet:(
Saturday morning, we met at my parents' house to make the breakfast we were supposed to have on the mountain! Mom and Dad and Angie's family made it down safely from the mountain to eat too! Nila had to go back to Phoenix to fly home this morning, so Elaine and Craig drove her back:( Everyone else re-set up the tents at my parents' house so that we could clean them and get them put away properly! Oh... we get to take ours right back to WalMart... I guess that is another lesson learned... NEVER go camping with a new tent that you haven't taken out of the box... their might be an un-sewn seam than lets rain through the bottom of the window!

Now it is Sunday morning... everyone is gone... and I get to go to church today! I love spending time with my family, and I am so glad that they could all come down for the week! It was lots of fun!
