Yard Work!!!!!...

Well, we finally decided that we have lived in this house long enough to start putting the landscaping in! It all started almost two weeks ago with Rachel's sand box... we wanted to build a really cool one like a gazebo and we were going to put it in the back corner of the yard. So, we started raking up the old pecans and leaves from the neighbors tree, we ran into a huge ant hill... only it wasn't a hill, it was an under ground mountain... their wasn't really one opening, it was kinda just all over the place. So Andy got out the gasoline, and burned them... I don't think they'll be coming back any time soon! We also had a huge pile of bricks and a bunch of other junk in the yard to get rid of... after 3 trips to the dump and moving the bricks to the other side of the shop... we have a clean yard!
Andy borrowed a tractor from a friend this past weekend... Rachel loved riding in "my daddy's tractor"... he got the yard pretty much leveled out, we just have to use a tiller now and rake it out when we are ready to plant the grass!
Rachel had the camera on the way up to get the plants!
The truck looked really good with all the plants in it!
The tractor was really helpful to get the plants in the back yard too!
She was the hardest worker of all!

After Andy was done playing on the tractor we went in and bought some plants... 2 huge trees and 14 hedges! They were having a sale, so we got a smokin' deal... we bought so much that we pretty much got one of the trees for free!
Rachel got the camera again! She is getting better at this!
All the plants where they go!
The princess hard at work again!
Tree #1 and Tree #2!
The 14 Hedges!
We brought our new plants home, put them where they went, dug some holes, and now they are permanant! I love my new trees!
Andy hard at work like always!
The first tree is in the ground!
The second tree hole was a little more stubborn to dig out, but with Rachel's help Andy won!
The last plant is in the ground!
I am excited to finish the project... it is going to take a while though... I drew out the master plan on a huge piece of paper and taped it to a board so it wouldn't get messed up... I am prepared... After all, it did take 3 1/2 years to finish the inside of the house!

It looks really good! I really need to come by and see the yard and the inside. The last time I was there was for Rachel's baby shower. You were barely moving in!
